The CAN Analyzer is a handy tool that allows easier configuration of CAN Inputs etc. by providing a view of the CAN-bus traffic. It also includes a logging function that saves the CAN data to a comma-separated value (.csv) file for further processing/investigation.

Start the CAN Analyzer from the Options → Utilities menu. Please note that CANTCU needs to be connected in order to use the CAN Analyzer.

All received data on CAN3 will automatically be shown and updated as long as the CAN Analyzer window is open. CANTCU operates normally while the CAN Analyzer is running.
To be able to spot changes in the data (e.g. a button press), the background color of the individual data cells change color. This color indication is automatically faded away if there are no further changes to the data.
Closing the CAN Analyzer window will disable the analyzer function and continue normal CANTCU operation otherwise.
To start a log, simply click the “Start Log” button. A file save dialog will pop up. After a suitable filename has been input and OK pressed, the logging will commence.

To stop logging, simply click on the “Stop Log” button. The saved file will be available immediately and can be opened in any suitable software.
Example of a saved log below, opened in Notepad++.
